- 150g cold butter, cut into cubes
- 100g of sugar
- 1 whole egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 300g strawberry grape jam (mustard)
Method:
Preparation of the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add the cold cubed butter and work the dough with your hands or with a mixer until you obtain a crumb-like consistency.
Add the whole egg and the yolk and knead quickly until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous ball.
Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Preparation of the tart:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Roll out 2/3 of the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3-4mm thick.
Line a tart pan (about 24cm in diameter) with the dough, cutting off the excess at the edges.
Tart filling:
Pour the strawberry grape jam (mostarda) onto the base of the tart, distributing it evenly.
Decoration and cooking:
Roll out the remaining dough and cut it into strips to create a grid on the surface of the tart.
Arrange the strips of dough over the jam, forming a grid pattern.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden.
Cooling and service:
Let the tart cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve the tart at room temperature.
