The berries are separated from the seeds, they are cooked slowly without the addition of thickeners or preservatives, preserving the authentic taste and nutritional properties of the elderberry. Our traditional simmering process ensures a rich, natural texture.

How to use:

Perfect for breakfast and filling cakes and desserts, also ideal as a tasty topping. Add a spoonful to ice cream, yogurt or panna cotta for a surprising dessert.

Biscuits Filled with Elderberry Jam

Ingredients:

  • 250g of 00 flour
  • 125g cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Elderberry jam (amount to taste)
  • Powdered sugar (for garnish, optional)

Method:

Preparation of the dough:

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the cold cubed butter and work the dough with your hands or with a mixer until you obtain a crumb-like consistency.
  • Add the egg and quickly knead the dough until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous ball.
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Preparation of biscuits:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3-4 mm.
  • Cut the dough into discs about 5cm in diameter using a cookie cutter or glass.

Assembly:

  • Place a teaspoon of elderberry jam in the center of half the dough discs.
  • Cover with the remaining discs and seal the edges by pressing lightly with a fork.

Cooking:

  • Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.

Cooling and seal:

  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • If desired, dust with icing sugar before serving.

Storage method:The product can be stored at room temperature until opened. Once opened, store in the refrigerator. It is recommended to consume within 30 days.
