1. Right of withdrawal: 20 days

If you are buying as a consumer, you have 20 days to change your mind, without having to give us a reason. The law requires 14: we give you 20.

The 20 days run from the day on which you, or a person you have designated, receive the goods. If the order arrives in more than one shipment, they run from the delivery of the last parcel.

To withdraw, simply write to info@scalzo.it before the 20 days expire, stating your order number and the products you wish to return. No registered letter, fax or special form is required. We will reply confirming receipt and telling you how to proceed.

The right of withdrawal applies to consumers. Purchases made by companies, retailers and VAT-registered businesses are governed by the commercial terms agreed with them.

2. When the right of withdrawal does not apply

We make food products, and EU distance-selling rules (implemented in Italy in art. 59 of the Consumer Code) provide for some exceptions:

  • Opened jars and packs. A sealed food product that has been opened after delivery cannot be returned, for reasons of hygiene and food safety. Products that are still sealed and intact can be returned without any problem.
  • Perishable products or products close to their date of minimum durability.
  • Products prepared to your order or personalised: gift boxes assembled to the customer's instructions, personalised cards, products with a dedicated label.

3. How to return the products

Once you have given notice of withdrawal, you have 14 days to send the goods to:

  • The cost of returning the goods is yours.
  • Pack the jars well: glass does not take knocks. We recommend the original packaging and a tracked carrier.
  • Until the goods reach us they travel at your risk: keep the proof of postage.
  • If the products have been handled beyond what was necessary to establish their nature and characteristics, we may reduce the refund in proportion to the loss in value.

4. The refund

We refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice of withdrawal, using the same payment method you used for the purchase and at no additional cost. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or proof that you have sent them.

The refund covers the price of the products and the standard delivery charge you paid with the order. If you chose a faster delivery than the standard one, we refund the amount of the standard delivery.

5. Damaged, missing or incorrect products

This is not a return: it is our mistake or transport damage, and we put it right ourselves.

If the parcel arrives visibly damaged, sign for it with a written reservation on the carrier's delivery note. Then write to info@scalzo.it as soon as you can, attaching a photo of the product and of the packaging: we will replace the goods or refund you, at our expense. In these cases the return costs you nothing.

6. Legal guarantee of conformity

Consumer goods carry the two-year legal guarantee of conformity. As these are food products, the practical reference for storage is the date of minimum durability shown on each product's label.
